Favorite haibun of the Winter 2016 issue:

Enigma

Drooping socks with scuffed, worn down black high-heeled pumps. Her suit, pale blue. Too tight and too short. Her jacket hangs open revealing a low cut baggy fushia blouse. She looks as if she has gathered her outfit from a cast off clothes bin. Her face and hair contradict her clothes. Shiny long blonde tresses. Meticulous makeup. Sparkling white teeth. What has generated such a clash of personalities within a single person?
